Why doN'T brushes rotate in electric motor?

First of all, we should know about all the components of the electric motor.

Brushes in a electric motor is used to transfer the electric current to the armature winding of the electric motor.

Brushes in a electric motor is also make contact with to the armature winding even though in motor armature  is rotating.

If the brushes also rotates with the armature  of the electric motor we can't transfer the electric power to the armature  windings and also the electric motor will not rotate further.

So, the brushes in an electric motor won't rotate with the armature windings in the electric motor.

The brushes in the electric motor will decrease in size as it is making contact with the armature  windings copper contacts.

Usually, brushes of the electric motor are made up of carbon mostly, will dissolve and at one point it will completely dissolved and there is no enough lead to make contact with the armature windings.

At this point the electric motor should be serviced properly by well trained professionals and the old carbon brushes are replaced by the new carbon brushes

These problems mainly happens in the motor vehicles self motor as it is running for some seconds with huge current.

  Have fun :)

Hope you guys learnt something New !!!!!
